We are looking for an experienced bookkeeper and administrator to work full time for a busy media specialist Accountancy firm. We are based in Edenbridge soon to be moving to Crockham Hill in Kent. We provide a flexible work environment with fun clients to boot. Adhoc working from home will be possible but this role is office based. 
Your role would be to join the VAT team in completing VAT returns for a portfolio of clients. Along with maintaining the Company secretarial database for all our Limited liability clients. 
What you need: 
1. You will need to have good verbal and written communication skills as you will have direct client contact. 
2. You will need to have experience working on Cloud based software solutions, and support clients using those packages. Xero experience is preferable but not essential. 
3. You will need to have prepared Quarterly VAT returns and have a basic knowledge of VAT rules. 
4. Any bookkeeping or accountancy qualifications would be a bonus but not essential. 
5. Good organisational skills. 
6. Attention to detail.

Job details

Broadwey Limited is the Family Office of an entrepreneurial high net worth Family. The Family Office looks after the personal financial affairs of various family members and the accounting and compliance for numerous Family financial interests. 

A Senior Finance Assistant/Accountant position has become available within the Broadwey team. Title and remuneration package will depend on qualifications and experience. 

You will be responsible for the day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting through to management accounts/financial statements including audits where required for a variety of entities/family interests. These include limited companies operating in the financial consultancy and property sectors. 

You will be expected to: 
- Ensure all finance functions and accounting records are maintained accurately and in a timely manner 
- Undertake all prime entry bookkeeping tasks ensuring all income and costs have been appropriately approved, recorded accurately and VAT where applicable is correctly treated 
- Administer all payments runs to the required frequency culminating in a weekly bank reconciliation where needed 
- Prepare VAT returns ensuring these are submitted on time 
- Maintain all fixed asset registers, ledgers and control accounts accurately 
- Undertake credit control if required 
- Produce management accounts and year end statutory accounts files for internal and external audit review 
- Prepare regular reports not limited to actual v budget cost summaries and profit forecasts as an example 
- Undertake project work as required 
- Provide holiday and sickness cover for other team members when needed 
- Report to the Team Leader or Deputy Head of Office as work requires 

We are looking for an individual who: 
- Is working towards their accountancy qualification, recently qualified or qualified by experience with at least five years of relevant experience, ideally within practice. 
- Has experience of accounting for transactions that are subject to VAT 
- Can proactively prioritise their own work as this role deals with a high volume of information 
- Has integrity, discretion and the ability to deal with confidential information 
- Has excellent administration and communication skills (both written and verbal with attention to detail) 
- Is tactful, diplomatic and approachable, with the ability to deal assertively with a wide range of people 
- Has excellent IT skills, a sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office and experience of using accounting software 
- Is flexible and willing to learn 
- Enjoys working on their own or as part of a wider team, being a team player is key

Established Company looking for someone to take over sole responsibility of the bookkeeping role, must have experience in a similar role. 
Proficient in Xero and knowledge of HMRC regulations and compliance 
Duties include:- 
Recording sales transactions, allocating receipts 
Monitor and chase outstanding invoice to minimise overdue invoices 
Entry of purchase invoices matching to purchase orders 
Processing supplier payments 
Resolving discrepancies or issues relating to sales and purchase ledgers 
Reconciliation of bank, cash and credit cards 
Posting month-end journals for payroll, depreciation, accruals and prepayments
