AAT in Scotland

We work with employers in Scotland across all sectors. From Johnston Carmichael and KPMG to NHS Scotland and DHL - we help employers get the best from their staff through vocational training and long term support.

We support the Scottish Government’s lifelong skills strategy to ensure that everyone has access to learning and development opportunities. With AAT, you can address skills shortages in the workplace, whatever the age and experience of your staff.

Work-based training

Bringing direct benefits to employers, the AAT Accounting Qualification gives staff the opportunity to learn the theory of accounting, and put it into practice too.

By the time students achieve the full qualification, they are equipped with hands-on experience in the workplace and more advanced communication skills than those who chose an academic route.

Tailored to the needs of employers, the AAT Accounting Qualification is split into three levels, enabling your employees to build their skills across a range of tasks from double-entry bookkeeping to management accounts, audit and tax.

AAT training providers

Flexible learning options are available and assessments are taken on-demand, which means that you can schedule training depending on workload and staff availability.

We have a range of private, higher and distance learning training providers throughout Scotland that offer AAT training.

Find a training provider in your area by postcode. Or, read more about the different training options available.

Progression to chartered accountancy

The development journey does not have to end on completion of the AAT Accounting Qualification.

Students can choose to progress to chartered accountancy with CIPFA, ICAEW, CIMA, ICAS and ACCA, and may be granted generous generous exemptions.

Insight Scotland

AAT Insight Scotland is an interactive microsite designed specifically for AAT employers, students and members in Scotland.

You'll find information and comments on news, events, training and funding and we welcome your involvement. You can comment on all of the articles on the site, and we'd like to get your views on what we should be covering.

If you have something you would like us to highlight on the site - perhaps an event or an AAT apprenticeship success story - then get in touch and we'll help to spread the word.
