AAT South Africa – AAT(SA)

AAT South Africa - AAT(SA) - is a collaboration between the South African Institute of Accountants (SAICA) and AAT, established to address the shortage of intermediate level accounting skills in commerce and industry, as well as local government.

The new structure offers five membership levels based on both qualifications and work experience.

This builds on our partnership between SAICA and AAT to train accountants through AAT(SA)’s Local Government Accounting Certificate – a bespoke qualification of tailored training and development for a career in local government finance. To date, we have over 2,500 students studying for both the main and local government qualification.

What is SAICA?

SAICA is the foremost accountancy body in South Africa. They have established themselves as one of the leading institutes in the world, playing an important part in a highly dynamic business sector. They provide a wide range of support services to their members, enabling them to play a key role in developing the rapidly changing South African economy.

AAT(SA) qualifications

From clerical, administrative to professional accounting and finance positions, our practical qualifications targeted at all staff levels.

AAT(SA) qualifications enable students to make a positive contribution to their employer's business, department or unit. Flexible and unique, they combine accounting theory and practical skills, allowing students to develop in their own work environment.

Our qualifications are based on occupational standards that have been adopted by the Eastern Central and Southern Africa Federation of Accountants (ECSAFA) and accredited to the SAQA NQF.
