Jenni Frost of Wiltshire has been recognised for her contribution to the reputation and prestige of AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians).
Presented with the AAT Past President’s Prize at the Association’s AGM in May, Jenni was selected for her promotion of and commitment to charitable activity.
Jenni started the AAT qualification in 2004 at age 24 and soon established her own business.
"After graduating with a degree in Music Technology in 2001, I spent two years busking and was also battling depression. I knew that in order to maintain good health, I needed a flexible career and being self-employed would allow that to happen."
"I enrolled in AAT and as my studies and knowledge progressed, I became confident enough to set up my own business. Farrant Frost started by offering bookkeeping services and this soon expanded to what is now a high street accountancy and tax consultancy practice," Jenni said.
Farrant Frost now services over 100 clients locally and nationally and has a number of charity initiatives to support the local community including sponsoring Devizes Food Bank, Wiltshire Air Ambulance and Cancer Research.
"We love being a part of the local community, and feel that we should use our resources to give something back."
"I was really surprised and bemused when I got the phone call to tell me I’d been selected for this award because I don’t feel that I’ve done anything particularly outstanding; I’ve just done what comes naturally."
"It’s a pleasure to have built my business to the point where I can give back to the community, and I really enjoy what I do. I’m honoured to have been chosen for this, and very grateful for the support of AAT and my wonderful members of staff," Jenni said.
"Commenting on Jenni’s achievement, Hilary Lindsay, Past President of AAT said: ‘I was delighted to present this award to Jenni. She has worked to establish a successful business that clearly makes positive contributions in her local community. AAT members are credible, professional and well respected and Jenni embodies each of these characteristics."
The AAT Past Presidents Prize is an annual award presented to a member who has brought credit to AAT or made a significant contribution to its development.
