How long will it take to qualify?
All AAT qualifications are designed to be flexible, so you can study them at a pace that suits you and fits in with your other commitments.
Many AAT students work during the day and train once or twice a week at evening classes. Generally this approach means that you’ll take a year to complete each stage of the qualification. So the entire qualification should take you three years in total.
But you may complete your studies quicker if you
- study full-time.
- have previous experience or qualifications which exempt you from the introductory levels.
And you may take longer to qualify if you
- take a break from your studies.
- study one unit at a time.
How long it takes you to qualify will also depend on how and where you choose to train. Would you prefer a full time college course? Or the flexibility of evening classes once or twice a week?
Distance learning – also known as open learning or home study – is a flexible way to train for the qualification from home. You can study at a pace that suits you. Search for distance learning providers and find out more about distance learning on our website.
