Some web pages use Flash in order to provide additional interactive content and functionality.

How can I download the latest Flash player?

Find out all the information about the most recent Adobe Flash Player, and, download Adobe Flash Player.

Where can I view your videos?

Right here, on the AAT website, please initially refer to the current CPD Zone, or, e-learning pages.

Every now and then, new videos are posted on the AAT website, and, therefore can be viewed by interested parties.

How can I view the video?

In order to watch a video on the internet, you will need to have either a Real Player or Windows Media player. You may have one installed on your computer already.

If you do not have a video player installed, download either a Real or Windows player from the internet by viewing either of the relevant pages below.

Windows Media Player:

Real Media Player:

If you are unsure about whether to use Real Player or Windows Media Player, it may help you to know that Windows Media Player tends to be more forgiving if you are behind a firewall.

How can I tell whether my browser is configured to use Real Player and / or Windows Media Player?

Please ensure that your browser is set up to use Real Player and / or Windows Media Player to view streaming formats including .asf, .asx, .wma, .wmv (Windows Media Player) and .rm, .ram, .rpm, .smil (Real Player). These settings are found in 'Preferences' for Netscape users, and 'Internet Options' for Internet Explorer users.

These settings are usually already automatically configured when the chosen player is installed.

If your browser is incompatible, you will be alerted with a message dialog box saying 'Your browser is incompatible', and, you will be provided with additional information and the necessary steps to take in this eventuality.

What is the optimal connection speed that I should use to view the video?

In order to receive the best viewing experience, please select the connection speed that matches your internet connection. Typically:

  • Dial Up Modem connection - 56 Kbps
  • Connection via office network - 128 Kbps
  • Cable/DSL connection - 300 Kbps

You can temporarily reset your connection speed from the "To change connection speed or media player click here" link under the video player. This only changes the speed for that singular viewing. Any subsequent viewings will also need to be reset.

How can I change my connection speed or media player?

In order to change your connection speed or media player, please click the link under the video.

Why can't I still view the video?

Your computer may be behind a firewall, setup by your I.T. Department, at your workplace to prohibit access to, or the downloading of, certain content.

You can ascertain this by asking your I.T., or Systems, Department.

How can I get the firewall configured to view the video?

For users behind a firewall, you may experience problems viewing the content. If this is the case, please contact your I.T., or Systems, Department so that your firewall can be configured to accept streaming video.

You may have to explain to your I.T. Department that you wish to view pages on the AAT website, and, wish to inform them that browsers will seek to download Windows Media Video, ".wmv", and / or, Real Movie, ".rm" files, therefore the firewall will necessarily have to allow content of this type, or nature, through.

Why is the audio or video link so slow or doesn't work?

Please download the latest version of Real, and / or Windows Media, Player for your computer.

Please click on any of the links below:

If you are still having problems it could well be due to the fact that many other people are probably trying to listen or watch the very exact, same, thing too. In busy periods when lots of people are trying to view the video all at the same time, please try refreshing the page or come back to it after a few minutes.

If it still doesn't work then you can reach the AAT Web Team via email, at the following email address:

webservices@aat.org.uk

What is the optimum viewing screen size?

The AAT website is designed to be viewed in 800 x 600 pixels, and, 1024 x 768 pixels screen resolutions.

Obviously, the optimum screen resolution is currently set at 1024 x 768 pixels.

How can I view the video in full screen mode?

You can enter and exit full screen mode of Windows Media Player by pressing the ALT+ENTER keys on your keyboard.

Press ALT+ENTER, once a video has started, to show the video in full-screen mode; this way you can see the entire video displayed, and view all it's features.

 Why can I not register?

Please check that there are no registration errors detailed on the registration form.

If there are, these will appear, highlighted in red, stating for example, "Sorry, the login details you have entered are invalid." say.

Please check your E-mail Address, and, Password fields.

Please check that you are entering the valid details for your MyAAT account on the AAT Website.

Why do I receive the "Sorry, the login details you have entered are invalid." registration error message?

This error message will appear when either an invalid E-mail Address and / or Password have been entered into the registration, or login, forms.

Please check that you are entering the valid details for your MyAAT account on the AAT Website.

What characters can I use in the E-mail Address, and, Password fields on the registration and login forms?

The best advice possible, and best practice, is not to enter any punctuation marks, symbols, or other non-standard characters, if you possibly can avoid these.

Please try to avoid any of these non-standard characters, however, if one absolutely must then please try to limit the punctuation marks used to the '@', or 'at', sign in email addresses, and, so on.

Usually, non-standard characters are not allowed in registration and login forms' fields in order to avoid any potential problems. A registration or login forms' field with no strange characters will pass, i.e. enable you to register, immediately, whereas one with these characters may mean that the entire registration or login forms' contents will fail submission until the relevant field's characters are amended, corrected, or stripped out.
