Fees, funding and apprenticeships

Fee, funding and apprenticeships

Our records show that students are almost twice as likely to pass an exam if they are supported by their employer. You can support your staff financially by

  • Paying training fees
  • Covering the AAT membership fee
  • Contributing towards books and professional subscriptions
  • Offering your employees a bonus or pay review when they successfully complete the qualification.

Funding and apprenticeships are also available, and you can support your staff's development in other, non-financial ways, too.

AAT fees

AAT training fees break down into

  • training provider fees (these vary from provider to provider)
  • AAT admission and membership fees

Costs also vary depending on

  • which qualification the student takes
  • which level of the qualification they choose to work towards
  • Our accounting and payroll qualifications are split into levels, and each level is a qualification in its own right. Some students choose to complete one level a year, while others prefer to take a more fast track route to qualifying with us.

Funding

Depending on the needs of your organisation and training requirements, you may be able to secure funding to help meet the costs of training. Funding for AAT courses varies across the UK, so please find your local training provider to discuss the latest funding arrangements.

Train to Gain is a Learning and Skills Council service which runs across England. An experienced Train to Gain skills broker can help you identify the training needs within your organisation.

Also, the Foundation (NVQ Level 2) of the AAT Accounting Qualification is eligible for funding under Train to Gain both for existing staff and new recruits aged 19 or over.

There is also funding available in

Apprenticeships

The Apprenticeship scheme is available across the UK, and aims to create a new generation of skilled workers. The scheme focuses on combining workplace training with off-the-job learning.

Because this fits with the AAT approach, funding is available for the Foundation (NVQ Level 2) and Intermediate (NVQ Level 3) of  the AAT Accounting Qualification  for existing staff and new recruits aged under 25.

There is more detailed information on fees and possible sources of funding on our website.
