How much will it cost?
The exact cost of studying for the AAT Accounting Qualification will depend on how and where you study, but it’ll fall into one of two main categories - fees for your training provider, and admission and membership AAT fees.
1. Training provider fees
These are paid to your chosen training provider, and cover your tuition and sometimes your course materials.
The cost of providing AAT training depends on the size, type and location of each training provider, so you’ll find big differences in fees between providers. It could pay you to shop around – you can search for training providers on the AAT website.
2. AAT fees – admission and membership
These fees are paid to the AAT, and cover your student registration and membership. There are also fees to take AAT assessments.
Can I involve my employer?
If you’re working, it might be worth telling your employer about your AAT training. Their support could be a real boost, and you might find they are willing to help with the costs because of the qualification’s practical nature.
Some employers will cover
- your training provider’s fees.
- AAT membership and admission fees.
- the cost of the books you need.
And sometimes they will pay for all three.
Your employer might also give you time off for classes or revision, and may be able to involve you in workplace projects that are useful to your studies. Find out more about employer support.
Where can I get help with paying for my course?
Depending on your circumstances, the government and other agencies may offer financial support for your AAT training. If you’re aged 16-24, for example, some courses are offered free.
