Become an AAT tutor
Have you ever considered becoming an AAT tutor? It can be a very rewarding and fulfilling career and there is currently high demand for AAT tutors so it has never been a better time to move into this area.
Teaching students from a wide range of backgrounds, seeing them learn, improve their understanding of the subject and grow in confidence is extremely satisfying. Teaching is also a good way of keeping your accounting skills up to date, maintaining your awareness of current issues and trends, and learning to use the latest technology.
Flexible working hours are an additional benefit as well as several weeks holiday. This is especially beneficial if you have children at school as the holidays will usually be mirrored.
How to become a tutor
Whether you have just completed your studies or have been working in an accounting role for years, it is never too late to become a tutor.
The qualifications required to become a tutor may depend on the requirements of the individual training provider. Many training providers offer financial support for training and professional development with qualified tutors on hand to offer guidance and advice.
In order to assess or internally verify any AAT qualification the appropriate qualifications are necessary.
Many training providers rely on a mix of part and full time staff to teach and administer the AAT qualification, and some tutors work part time at 2 or more training providers as this meets their needs.
Details of current roles available are listed below. It is also worth contacting AAT training providers in your local area to see if they have any vacancies. Details of training providers can be found by searching your local area on the Find a Centre service.
