AAT policy work

AAT's public policy work

Public policy can have a big impact on the AAT both as a professional and an awarding body.  We work hard to ensure that our members, and their views, are represented at all levels of government and public life and to engage with individuals, government, public and private sector bodies who make and shape policy.

Our policy work falls within two main categories:

Education and skills training

The AAT is recognised as the leading awarding body for technician level accounting skills and as an excellent and innovative provider of vocational education. We aim to maximise our influence on the formation and implementation of national and regional skills policy and policy relating to specialist vocational education.

Technical accountancy
As a professional body with the highest standards of competence and integrity we aim to maximise our influence on the formation and implementation of fiscal policy and the financial regulatory framework.
