Having almost finished by AAT last couple of exams in June I would like to sit the AAT payroll exams. I used to do payroll for previous companies I do not really need to go to class but any way my college do not do any. I would like to do home study/revision but need text books as obbviously there will have been changes since I did payroll as part of my job 4 years ago. Does any one know were/who publishes text books for AAT payroll I know Osbourne don't do them any info would be a help.

Hi Kiwi,

I am currently doing my AAT Payroll Level Two and hopefully in I pass my Level Two exam in June I will then be starting with level Three.
The books I am using are FTC. I was disappointed when I wasn't getting Osborne books but I have found the FTC books to be just as good as the Osborne books (if not better) and one things I do like better about the FTC books is the layout of them.

Let me know if you need a hand with anything.

Nic

Hi Nic

Is FTC short for an abbreviation and do you know where can I get FTC books from.

The Osbourne books I got most of the from college but also brought some online.

Hi Kiwi,

FTC stands for Financial Training Company

Try looking on their website

Hi Nicola.

I'm in a similar situation.

The problem is getting the devolved assessments marked. A lot of local colleges are a bit parochial! They won't let you sit assessments in their presence. I had to sign up with Premier Training. They allow you to sit devolved assessments at work, with your line manager signing the paperwork and Premier doing the marking. FTC (Foulkes Lynch)do something similar.

As far as the exams are concerned, AAT have a number of locations that accept external exam candidates.

Hope this helps.

Michael

Hi there,

I have been using BPP home study for Level 2 Payroll but am finding their service is very poor - they keep losing my work and take forever to get it marked. Do you think is would disadvantage me if I was to change a different provider for Level 3? I was thinking of changing to Premier Training as they seem to get good reviews on the other forums, but I am concerned that BPP will have signed off my other work and it might help to stick with the same provider. Any thoughts?

Regards,

Lesley
