What does LOL mean at the end of a message? It's cropped up on other forums.

It means 'laughs out loud'
LOL = Laugh(ing) Out Loud. Used to indicate that you found something funny or that what you've said is intended as a joke.
There's a list of these things here (http://www.computerhope.com/jargon/s/shorthan.htm) - many of them I've never seen used anywhere.

Most common ones I've seen are:
LOL - laughs out loud
ROFLMAO - rolling on floor laughing my @ss off
OIC - oh I see
BTW - by the way
TTFN - ta ta for now
FYI - for you information
RU - are you
UR - you are

THX - thanks
2DAY - today
2MORRA - tomorrow
2NITE - tonight
