I have got the option of taking the intermediate level in 6 mths instead of 12!!!!
Does anyone have any views on this?
I feel I might be pushing myself too much as i still want to enjoy studying and my life!

Is it with a college or distance learning? I started Intermediate in May 2005. Took my exams in the December and finished everything else in early Spring 2006.

I began Technician before the first year was up, but only just!

I'm with Premier Training and can dictate my own speed, but need my tutor to chase me!

The pace was OK, but this year I'm taking things much slower.

Hi,
It is with a college but 6 mnths is being economical with the truth! I will start 5 Sept 06 and sit my exams in Dec 06 (3 1/2 mnths!) plus 2 skills tests.
I will do my final skills test after xmas.
if i do it over "12mths" i sit one exam in Dec and one in June. I am not sure if doing the fast track I will totally digest and understand what I am learing.

To be honest, I can't really see 3 1/2 months as realistic - at least if you want any sort of life and to keep your sanity. I think I'm pretty bright and well motivated and I found doing just Unit 5 in that timescale hard enough. I'm sure you'll enjoy it more and have a better learning experience with the longer option

Yup, I think it makes sense to do it over 12 months.
I'm in no rush and I want to be able to know what I am talking about when I go for interviews.
cheers

I did intermediate fast track at my local college and it was no problem. I did it the other way around to you - i started in the January and completed in the June.
Some poeple with children and full time jobs did struggle but I worked p/t and don't have any kids, so it was very easy.
But that suits me better; I am the sort of person who would get bored of very long study periods and I enjoy cramming it all in in one go. I probably spent on average 1.5 to 2 days a week studying at home on top of 2 days a week at college. But I passed!

That's great - well done!! but (unfortunately!) I work full time and have kids and only allowed one day release a week to attend college.
I have decided to do it over 12 months now, which has turned out for the better!! I will sit one exam at xmas and one in June. I will attend college alternate weeks then take a study day off the week in between. so I'm happier now.
Thanks for all your comments and advice.

im only on the foundation course and my college made the decision for us that we would start middle sept and take exam 05/12/06. they have now said they think they may have made a mistake at trying to cram it all in, alot of information is crammed in and there isnt enough time to de-muddle it in class, so alot of the time your left to try and sort it yourself, and this is only at foundation level. so good luck if you do try the intermediate on fast track

Foundation is definately possible to do in 6 months but I wouldn't suggest if for Intermediate. I think you're being very wise spreading it over 12 months!

All the best

i did intermediate over 12 months but found it fairly steady so i did auditing and cash management fot technician level at the same time as they are both simulations and i did my project unit 10 for technician through the summer which means now ( on technician) i am able to give both taxes ago and as long as i pass my 3 compulsary exams (pev, pcr & dfs)i will pass the course but have the added chance of the taxes which can help gain exemptions on the next stage of acca or aca.ive already found this to help haelp witht he work load this year as the rest of my class have their projects to do, but when i started the cash & auditing units i had the option of if it became too much to drop them but i found it ok i just did one at a time
