I am having trouble getting my head around working out SSP.

If someone works part time say two days per week on a Monday and Wednesday and is off work for two weeks, there would be three waiting days so would that be the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, then would you pay them sick pay for the Monday and Wednesday of the next week.

I hope someone can help.

Hiya,

They employee would only get paid one day sick pay of the two weeks they have been off.

As the Monday and Wednesday of the first week would be classed as two waiting days and then the following Monday (of the second week) would be classed as the third waiting day. And then the Wednesday of the second week would be the first day that sick pay is paid to the employee.

I was just unsure about the waiting days, I wasn't sure if you counted days which were not working days.

I fould grasping the SSP difficult at first as well, but once you've got the hang of it, its not to bad.
