Public Sector Accounting

I don't suppose anyone can give me a link to a website on accounting in the public sector?

I need the actual technical detail on the preparation of their financial statements.

I tried the CIPFA website but got no where.

Anything appreciated.

What about phoning your local council, speaking to their finance department and asking them for advice?

They might be able to point you in the right direction :D after all we (rates payers) pay their salaries!

Thanks Claudia will think about that but looks like i'm going to have to buy some books. Bought two yesterday - cost me £67! No wonder students are leaving with so much debt (well not really we all know all they do is squander it, apart from our fellow AAT'ers that is)
