Hi folks,
Is anyone sitting thier exam in December?
Nic
Hi,
I am sitting my exam in December, but I wish I wasn't i don't think I will be ready. I am due to take my DNP skills test next week and I am finding it difficult at the moment to take anything in.
I am a bit stuck on the following if you can help me it would be great.
If an employee is a member of the pension scheme and gets paid £2000.00 per month but was overpaid by £200 the previous month. Do you calculate the pension on the £2000.00 or £1800.00.
Do you feel confident for the exam?
Regards

I don't study payroll, but I am guessing you would need to check whether the previous month was calculated on £2,000 or £2,200?
If it was £2,200, then this month would be calc. on £1,800?
If it was £2,000, then you would do the same again this month?
I would think the £1800 because the pension should have been calculated on the £2200 the previous month.
I passed the Level 2 exam in June but have still to get the skills tests done. I sent the first one away ages ago and haven't heard anything from BPP (surprise surprise). They have been terrible, sending material late so I couldnt do the exam in Dec 05 and taking months and months and months to get back to me with work experience (I had forgotten, they have still got a lot of that too somewhere in their in trays...)
I have signed up for Level 3 with Premier Training but I want to get Level 2 all finished before I start Level 3. However I think I will concentrate on my ACCA exams for the next few months and worry about Payroll later in December.
I never thought this course would be such a nightmare! The exams are fine and the material covered is good, it is the simulations and experience which are a pain and dealing with the BPP is a truely horrible experience. Just glad I am doing ACCA and not AAT.

Hi Lesley,
I know what you mean about the skills test with BPP. They do tend to keep you waiting for ages. Unless you keep ringing them up, they forget about you. I've decided that I won't sit the exam in December as I'm so bogged down at work at the momemt and I'm just too tired to get enough studying done.

I'm sitting the December exam-though I suspect that I won't be ready in time!
I'm doing the course via Premier Training and have got quite behind. I understand most things, but haven't memorised anything yet.
Arianna - I'm studying with Premier too, how are you finding it - how far have you got?
Just out of interest have you sat your skills test yet?
Prmier Training are alright-not too bad at sending out the marked work and the comments on the work are helpful.
I haven't actually done any of my skills test yet-that's how behind I am! I'm ready for my first test, but I'm a bit concerned that if I concentrate on getting the skills tests out of the way I won't be ready in time for the exam! I've got a month of VERY hard work ahead of me, I'll have to see how it goes!
How about you?
I'm sitting the December exam for NVQ2 and studying through a FE college. We are concentrating on the exam & won't sit the simulation until after we've done the exam at the beginning of December. I don't think you have anything to worry about if you haven't done the skills test yet just concentrate on the exam. Our tutor has said that the skills test is more detailed than the exam hence his decision to set it after the exam.
