There I was, eating my lovely pasta salad, when all of a sudden I came across a tiny bit of SPRING ONION. It made my mouth and throat burn, my tongue tingle, and my eyes water.

Does anyone else find spring onions hotter than chillis?

Sorry for the bizarre post. It's Friday :D

I like spring onions. But you have to respect them. They have a bit of a size/inferiority complex. :)

i love them, boiled in a little taste of milk and then stired into mashed potato - it is FANTASTIC - serve with some funky sausages (pork & leek are my favourite) then smother in gravy

YUM YUM YUM

:D :D :D :D

I hate them with a vengance (sp?) I find them hotter than chillies as well, glad I'm not the only one like that

Could you be allergic to them.

Whenever I eat carrots my face turns orange, amusing but annoying. And no I am not an Umpa Lumpa

Also when I eat celery I get a rash on my legs.

Weird

I did think that at one point but I'm not sure. Once I made my Mum watch me to see if I came out in a rash or anything but I didn't.

My mouth didn't stop burning until after I'd gotten home that day!

You can't be allergic to a cheese and onion sandwich

That would be terrible :( :( :(

OK, I think I am allergic.

I came up in a rash after putting them in my pasta the other night :( Then by morning the rash had mysteriously disappeared...

I hate sweetcorn. Maybe there's a good reason why we can't digest it? Perhaps it's linked to the fact that we're not designed to fricking well eat it? I've also got this gut feeling that I can't digest metal too...

Yet the student chefs at my college insist on putting sweetcorn into everything they make. Pizzas? Dead cert. Salads? In it goes, all bloody over. On your cornflakes? Excellent idea. Christmas cake? Absolutely!

Horrible! I hate it... goddamned evil little yellow pellets...

I'm the same! What's the point in eating it? You don't digest it, you definately don't get any goodness from it, why should we bloody well eat it?

Awh LouLou I feel so sorry for you :( I have a friend who is the same - she hates not being able to eat coco pops.

Mmm.. cocopops

have to agree, it is "yummy", especially corn on the cob.

Not as yummy as a cheese & onion sandwich though :D :D :D

I have a friend who's in the same boat. But we're lucky here, because there's a small firm that makes a wonderful range of goodies (with chocolate) that don't contain these things - Honeybuns - yummy!

Enjoy!

Corn on the cob smothered with butter makes an excellent starter whilst the steaks are cooking :D :D :D :D
