Hi all!
It's my boyfriends birthday in March and I'd like to take him away for a few days to a nice rural retreat and stay in a log cabin.
Anyone done this - any recommendations?
We are in Wiltshire and don't want to fly anywhere or drive for more than 4 hours, so somewhere like Scotland is out of the question!
Personally I dont think you can go wrong with Cornwall. Or there is the Cotsolds, or some villages in the peak district are very nice, which is only derbyshire.

Yeah I was thinking maybe Cornwall/Devon/Dorset - trouble I am finding is that they will only do week breaks and not 3 nights - bum!
Cotswolds is too close to home - wouldn't feel like we were "away", he he!
I will have a look into Peak District!
Thanks for suggestions!
I would reccommend Edale. Very nice little village, not much there, but there is a pub or two.
Holy Christ Paul, I went there on a school trip way way back in 1980 when I were a nipper and looking for new coal seams. Full of inbreds so I wouldn't expect it to have changed much over the last thousand years...
... a bit like anywhere north of London really!

Blobby, nice to hear from you!!
Not sure about the inbreds, it was very quiet when I was there.
1980, haha, doesnt mean a lot to me, wasnt even thought of at that point in time!!

Los Gigantes is nice (or it was when I last went, many years ago). Warm, not too rowdy (unless that's what you want!).
Not really Im taking the lady!

Nah Helen, I should imagine Paul gets plenty enough of that where he lives - no wonder he needs to get away!
Did I ever tell you Paul that I spent 18 months living in Hall Green between Jan 02 to June 03? Had to leave in the end 'cos I grew sick of the drugs, shootings and murders! And that was just at the small factory where I worked!

Hi
The Canaries are usually good all year round, although Egypt and Dubai and good for Easter - depending on far you want to go. If you want to far Florida is wonderful at Easter.

Dartmoor is lovely. And you can go on pony rides up there which is gorgeous at day-break.
^ Sorry that was me
Yeah Dartmoor in mid/west-Devon is nice
