Hi Ne,
I don't know enough to answer this with any confidence, sorry, but I think you might find that posting this on the Technical (members') forum might be better as hopefully someone more qualified might help. And I find the forums at payroll world - www.payrollworld.com/ and at www.paypershop.com/phpBB2/index.php (hopefully it's ok to post that here!) very good.
Best of luck with it,
Schreiber
Hi Ne,
As regards the completion of P35, you needs to do all the adjustment if necessary for all the employees/staffs at the end of the year.
A
1. Calculate all the enteries in the P11 for all the employees/staffs up to week 52 or month 12. For example the weekly/monthly pay in column 2 of P11 with the total in week 52 or month 12 of column 3 of P11. Any error made in the addition could be detected.
2. Compare the total tax deducted on a weekly/monthly bases in colum 7 of P11 with the total of week 52/maonth 12 in column 6.
3. Compare the aggregate of these tax deducted in week 52/month12 of column 6 of P11s of all the employees with the figures you recorded in P32. Any discrepancies will show. It is always advisable to recalculate all the tax and NIC deducted from pay in week 51 or month 11 in order to make any necessary adjustment in week 52 or month 12.
4.Also NIC, similar comparation should be applied with the weekly/monthly NIC calculation in column 1e and column 1d. Compare the total NIC in week 52/month 12 of column 1d in P11 with NIC recorded in P32.
If the total of tax and NICs recorded in P11s are the same with the total recorded in P32, this means that everything is okay.
B
Filling form P14s/P60s.
All the individual employees/staffs details from P11 cards (if you maintained manual systems) or the records from the computerised systems should be transfered to the P14/p60 forms. Also Employer's name, address and PAYE reference.
1. Indicate the final NIC table used for each employee. Eg Table A or B.
2. Week 52/month 12 enteries of each employee
3. If there is any statutory payments or student loan deductions, include these as well.
4. The starting date of each employee.
5. If any employee has left within the tax year, include the leaving date.
6. Also include the final tax code of each employee.
7. Indicate the sex of the employee. EG M/F.
C
It is after finishing with the P14s/P60s then P35 can be completed.
1. Names of all the employees during the tax year
2. The NIC and Tax entered in P14s/P60s will be transfered here.
3. Include any statutory payments.
4. Include any tax deducted from subcontactors.
5. Add all these totals. If you have not paid all the taxes and NICs due within the tax year, indicate this and if otherwise, put nil.

Note:
1. If employee starts during the tax year and brought P45 for the same tax year, this figure should also be included in the summary of P11(This is tax in previous employment. This is the figure that will be included in P14s/P60s.
2. The NICs included in P14s/P60s is the Employer's and Employees. Column 1d of P11.
3. Then P14s and form P35 will be sent to the HMRC.
I believed that you will be able to deal with other entries in the forms.
Make sure that you do not omit any information in these forms. If you do, it will affect the employees or staffs when dealing with them by the HMRC.
The year end is always an hectic period. I hope my explanation is clear enough to be of help to you. If you need more clarification, please, do not hesitate to let me know.
Best of luck.
Sindy
It is the same figures that are entered in P14s and P60s. The two P14s are sent to the
