View Full Version : after ATT Technician
assuming at some point I will actually finish ATT Technician level, i was wondering what to do next CIMA, ACCA, etc, etc I'm trying to find un-bias advice as my college only has courses in CIMA. Does everyone else know what they are doing?
It really depends what type of business you work in, or what you are expecting to do in the future.

ACCA, is chartered accountancy. This relates more to doing other company's/peoples accounts

CIMA is management accounts. This relates more to doing accounts for the company that you work for.

If you have someone @ work you can ask, like a manager they would be able to offer advice.

Apparently CIMA is a bit harder (but im sure anyone doing ACCA would disagree).
More people do ACCA.

It really depends on your personal circumstances

Hi,

I am currently studying AAT Technician and am hoping to be qualified when the results come through in February 2005! I work in a firm of accountants preparing accounts for small businesses and individuals, completing Tax Returns and VAT Returns. etc. I am hoping to go on to study ACCA as it is more relevant to my job and I certainly don't want to change the area that I work in at the moment. I suppose the way to go depends on what you do for a job and what your firm would recommend you did. I am lucky in that my boss would be happy whichever way I went, but obviously CIMA wouldn't be suitable for me as we are only a small firm with 7 employees, and don't have an accounts department as such!!!

I hope you manage to decide which way to go, but whatever you do, don't stop now... Keep going while you're still in the studying frame of mind or it'll be really hard to get back into!!!

Laura
