I sent off my application for full membership MAAT status on the 02nd of September. After hearing absolutely zero for several weeks I eventually get an e-mail requesting more information. That was mid October. I had only 8 months experience with my current employer and because my old boss totally disregarded the AAT qualification I would not contact him for previous work experience even though I have worked in practice for over 5 years. Therefore I did not fulfill the AAT work experience criteria. I sent off my CV, all the hugely irritating forms, etc. I rang the AAT this morning and my application is with the assessors (yet again) and I should hear back in about 3 weeks. How long does it take to look at one application?! What do these assessors do all day?! I have now been with my current employer 10 months and by the time I will hear back no doubt I will have fulfilled the work experience requirement anyway!
I would like to get this sorted out as I want to progress to onto ICAEW, maybe with another employer. Has anyone else feel as though they have been treated like this? Or am I the only one who keeps forgetting how 'professional' the AAT is in dealing with people? Sorry to moan but I've had it up to here waiting.

hi, did you manage to get it sorted?

Sorry to hear youve had all that trouble-did you visit student services when you enrolled at your college? they should have warned you!!!

i lost my exam form for Dec04 PCR. rang up an requested a new copy three weeks before the deadline. luckily i found the original, im still waiting for the duplicate!

Hope you can get your previous boss to help. i can sympathise with your situation, i had to wait four years til i got made redundant to b able to do the courses i wanted because my old boss didnt think i needed the qualifications and thought was a waste of my time, wasnt prepared to give me any support, so i left it. (more like he didnt want to give me a pay rise!)

SJ
