am I right in thinking that as part of the foundation stage you learn about sage? If so do you need the software? Anybody been through foundation that can help?

Yes, as far as I know Sage is part of the Foundation year. If you are at college, there is no reason why you would need the software. If you are home studying maybe you would (I don't know much about home study) I did foundation last year at college and yes we did Sage, but everything was done at college and we had more then enought time to do it without homework. I personally bought the software for my home computer so that I could do more at home, but as I said before, no need if at college.
Good Luck

Surely the people to ask is the AAT themselves - they know absolutely ;)

Perrsonally I wouldn't rush out to buy a copy of sage until you know for certain that you need to...as a piece of accounting software it leaves a lot to be desired, although it is not the worst - that honour goes to MYOB!

Yes you do Sage Line 50 on Foundation. To buy the program could cost you over £500 so no don't buy it! Everything you are expected to learn is done at college and if you use it at work you can collect additional evidence of what you know from work but most people don't bother. Its all pretty easy stuff so don't panic and certainly don't buy it!
