Carraige and settlement discount

Can someone please tell me if the settlement discount is calculated on the net and the carraige to calculate the VAT, or would it be just on the net value of goods.

I seem to remember you work out your VAT assuming your customer will pay early, then add your carriage (plus VAT) on top of that.<BR><BR>Hope that answers your question<BR>Mandy
