Hello
I am just looking for some general advice .
I am currently doing an AAT foundation level distance learning course and i have nearly finished it and am wondering what , job wise would be my next step.
I am currently working in a finance department doing all the finace jobs that no one else seems to want to do . The actaual job is more admin than finance based . I am looking to do something more accounts based in the new year to put in to practice what i have done at foundation level as well as what i will be doing at intermediate level . I have allways wanted to work in an accounts practice but am i jumping the gun a bit and is that the type of job i should look at doing , when i am stuyding the technical level of AAT.
So does anyone have any ideas what type of job i should be looking for so i can put in to practice what i have and will be studying ??
Thanks

I started working in the accounts department before I even started my AAT.
My job involved purchase ledger, reconciliations, general banking, expenses, etc

Obviously it depends where you live and what type of company you work for but you shouldnt have a problem getting a job as long as you dont expect too much. But an assistant or trainee role is prob what you will have to do.

Im now doing technician and My job involves analysing monthly transactions, management accounting, budget reports, psa and tax returns etc.......

So although you may have to cope with a low level accounts job for a while, in a couple of years you should have been able to progress onto much better stuff.
