I am taking my foundation exam next June. I have only completed assignments 1 and 2 so far. I took a bit of time out over Christmas etc. but am struggling to get back into it, plus assignment 3 (all about the trial balance) is discouraging me even more. I read on another post that all simulations have to be in and complete by May, i haven't obviously even started these, neither is my portfolio up to scratch. Is there anyone out there with any advice for me, i feel like i'm swimming against the tide here and i'm going to go mad!!!!

thanks

sarah

sarahheward@owenwilliams.co.uk

The way you are explaining things makes me think you are with Premier Training - am i correct??

If you are - the assignments they set (3 in total) are just to get you started, I can remember doing 1 and 2 and then didnt do 3 for ages as i just didnt understand - so I did assignment 3 with my text books and passed - cheap you might think, but then you start practicing for the skills tests so its back to unit 1. After I started doing the skills tests everything fell into place and I would have been able to have done assignment 3 without my books.

Just keep going and all of a sudden everything just clicks into place!!

Keep studying - Try the assignment - it doesnt count towards your qualification!!!

Hi yes. Thank you for replying to me. You're quite right i am with Premier Training, but now i feel even worse because i used my books to help me with the 1st two assignments.
Thank you for your advice i know i need to get studying, quick sharp!

do you have any examples of a study timetable i could set myself, i find time an issue as i'm working 5 days a week 8-5pm?

Thanks again

Sarah

I also work 8.30 to 4.40pm 5 days a week!!

Study with Premier Training!! and try to help the students on my website as much as i can.

To be honest and thinking back - I proberly used my books to do all 3 assignments. Have a go at it and dont worry about the 3rd one.

Then just plod along doing the skills tests.

To start with, I stuck to the timetable that premier set me. Worried when i wasnt getting the assignments in on time. Then i was so behind the schedule / timetable they had set so i requested another revised one. All of a sudden I was ahead of the timetable.

Dont worry about it too much, thats why you are on home study - you can go as quick or as slow as you want. You will find that when you understand something you will keep going as you will find it interesting. When you dont understand its harder to pick up that book and read!!! Its still early days yet if you only doing ass3, so chill out and enjoy your studying.

If you ever need help with anything you can msn me, amandahanks@hotmail.com

Keep studying - it will become clear soon!!

Hiya,

I am in totally the same situation as you!

I am also studying with premier training and have completed the first few assignments and have not opened the books for 3 months since then.

I thought I was the only one and started to feel very disappointed in myself as I have not been doing the course, I am just starting to dip into the books again to refresh my memory and will hopefully get back into it full throttle sharpish.

It would really help if the tutors e-mailed you or phoned you regularly to see how you are getting on and to give you some motivation and encouragement.

I mean you pay for a service but feels like your just just paying for the books and you her left to get on with it.

Does anyone else feel the same?
