Having just passed Technician and am begining to consider doing CIMA, although I swore I would never go through the stress of the last 9 months again! I can't seem to find a local college who provides the course though. Would be interested to know how difficult people have found it through distance learning.

Hi Gill

I am in a similar position. I would like to continue my studies but I am not sure which is the best direction to take. If you log onto CIMA site you should be able to access a college list showing you the nearest one to you or there is also distance learning though of course not to everyones taste.

For my part I lean towards Financial accounting and I am considering ACCA but I am finding everything really bewildering. I just can't seem to get a grip on what all the different "Institutes" are and which is the best to go for.

Is anyone else as confused as me?

Chris

I agree, it is all a bit of a mine field. I have only decided on CIMA because it seems more geared towards my current role and this is the type of accounting/management work that I wish to continue doing.

The nearest college offering CIMA courses appears to be two hours away which isn't going to be practical. I would like to be able to log on to their discussion forums to get a feel for how difficult students are finding the work but you have to register as a student first - not very helpful!

Good luck with your decision.

Correction to my last message - found my way in at last, but unfortunately not too much help as yet.
