Thankyou! I feel this must be right, as other Local Authorities have adopted this Financial system 'mySAP'. I have now had a good read up about it! Just goes to show you should never be afraid to ask!
Thanks again!
I work in a school in Lincolnshire. Although we do not subscribe to it and continue to use our Sage Line 100 package, the County's accounting system is called SAP. Schools are linked to the system by intranet - NETLinc. The system, as I understand it, is that each school is like a cost centre within the whole. Other schools/departments can make charges against the school's cost centre and the Finance Dept at the County can make journal entries too. Schools do not need their own bank account as cheques are generated by the system and sent out from County Offices. We did not join up as we felt we would lose control of our accounts - not to mention the loss of interest at the bank! I don't know if this is relevant but hope that it helps.
