Company Car/van Tax Rules

Hi

I wonder if anyone else has heard or read that the Company car/van rules are to change from 2006.

I have checked the IR website and apart from a mention about CO2 emissions rules changing I can not find anything else.

Rumour has it that in the future you will have to prove that all miles covered were infact business miles and not for private use.

So why do I need to know .............. well a Sat Nav company are trying to tell my boss that as from next year we will need to have satelitte navigation installed in all our vehicles to prove that they were only used for work.

Now I can hear you all shouting SSCCCAMMMMMMMMMM and I totally agree but then when your boss wants you to find out about the changes and there is nothing there whats the next best option............

Have you tried giving Inland Revenue a ring, they are probably the best people to tell you.
