Australia - AAT (Australia)
The agreement between the AAT and the National Institute of Accountants of Australia (NIA) has resulted in the creation of AAT (Australia) and NIA recognition for AAT full members who want to work in Australia. In the future these benefits will also extend to AAT student members who wish to continue their training in Australia. The agreement means that AAT members will be able to transfer their membership to the NIA.

Botswana - Botswana Institute of Accountants
In January 2001 the Botswana Institute of Accountants (BIA) and the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) launched AAT Botswana in order to improve opportunities for the education and training of accounting technicians in Botswana.
AAT Botswana will be based at the offices of BIA. Under the agreement, BIA will provide an enhanced range of services and support for students of AAT Botswana including:
- payment of fees and subscriptions in Pula instead of Pounds Sterling
- modern communication links with AAT headquarters in London
- pre-enrolment advice and guidance on courses and training
- handling of queries from student members, training centres, employers and the general public.

China - Hong Kong Institute of Accredited Accounting Technicians (HKIAAT)
A reciprocal membership arrangement between the HKIAAT and the AAT means that a fully qualified member of either body can be recognised for admission as a fully qualified member of the other. This agreement, signed in 2006, strengthens the relationship between the two bodies that started with a joint examination agreement in 1988.

Jamaica - Institute of Chartered Accountants of Jamaica (ICAJ)
A new initiative to provide local support to Jamaica's accounting technicians was launched by the AAT and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Jamaica (ICAJ) in June 2001. The agreement means that Jamaican AAT student, full and fellow members can contact the ICAJ office if they have any queries and will be able to pay their subscriptions there. ICAJ will also be able to inform student members of their exam results and offer advice to those considering registering with the AAT.

New Zealand - New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants (NZICA)
AAT members looking to work in New Zealand are able to undertake a conversion requirement to become provisional members of NZICA's College of Accounting Technicians. AAT members are required to complete the orientation papers in taxation and introduction to commercial law at least to New Zealand Diploma in Business level.
NZICA is a member of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) and has reciprocal arrangements with ICAEW and ICAS for its senior qualification

Members of the NZICA College of Accounting Technicians who wish to work in the UK are eligible for AAT full membership once they have met the following requirements:-one year's orientation to the UK business environment by registration as an AAT affiliate member
- provision of a reference from a suitably qualified referee.
- One year's work experience (which may have been gained during training)
- One year's professional preparation by registration as an AAT affiliate member
- A professional referee who can vouch on your suitability for AAT full membership
South Africa
Students who have achieved the CBET programme for Accounting Technicians, whether awarded by AETA or GAP, have the opportunity to progress to AAT full membership if they have:
The CBET programme confers eligibility for Accounting Technician membership of the Institute of Commercial and Financial Accountants of South Africa (CFA) and the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA).

Trinidad and Tobago - Institute of Chartered Accountants of Trinidad and Tobago
