Paul Buzzard MAAT MIP wins the VQ Hero of the Year Award

Paul Buzzard, a Member in Practice scooped the VQ Hero of the Year Award at the very first VQ Day. Paul qualified with the AAT last year after leaving his 30 year career as a teacher. He retrained as he is the fulltime carer to his daughter Ione who has cerebal palsy. Paul needed to have a career that would allow him to work around his responsibilities.

Paul qualified with the AAT Accounting Qualification, Payroll Levels 2 and 3 and the ABC Bookkeeping Certificate all in one year. He was able to do this with great support of his tutors at the Forest of Dean college.

The celebration held at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden was attended by the Secretary of State for Innovation Universities and Skills, John Denham, and front bench spokesmen from the Conservatives and the Liberal Democrats.

Paul was presented his award by Alesha Dixon of Strictly Come Dancing fame.
