Chesterfield College won gold this year at the WorldSkills UK Accounting Technician Skills Final, held on 27 June at the AAT’s London offices.

After battling their way to the 2009 final, Hazel Robinson, Liam Trythall and Katie Walton from the Chesterfield College team beat four other teams to walk away with first place.

• In second place - Andrew Briers, Laura James and Stephanie Jones from Burton College, took the silver medal.
• In third place - Stuart Matthews, Darcie Rae and Joseph Scott from System Group claimed the bronze.
• In fourth place - Jonathan Derry, Julie Edwards and Liam Hammond of Stephenson Group.
• In fifth place - Daniel Adleman, Tyler Trew and Tracey Wolfe from Havering College.

Hazel, Liam and Katie from Chesterfield College’s winning team will now be invited to attend the WorldSkills UK Gold Awards ceremony at the IMAX cinema in London on 12 November.*

The awards ceremony is for gold medal winners across all categories and will be presented by a celebrity guest.
