Responsibilities

  • Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded
  • Update accounts receivable and issue invoices
  • Update accounts payable and perform reconciliations
  • Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines
  • Assist with reviewing of expenses etc as assigned
  • Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed
  • Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports
  • Assist senior accountants in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings
  • Assist with other accounting projects

Required qualifications

  • 1+ yrs of experience in finance
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Self-starter with good MS Office skills
  • Strong team player and ability to handle tasks under pressure and in a timely manner with required quality
  • Qualifications (AAT or CIMA) is a plus but not required
  • Sage experience is a plus but not required

The Junior Accounts Assistant contributes to the overall success of the organisation by assisting with all day-to-day financial responsibilities.

  • ensuring that the invoice or relevant expenses has been properly authorised

  • adopting a flexible approach to changeable and pressurised situations, achieving positive outcomes within tight deadlines
  • filing and records retention
  • assisting with monthly and year-end tasks
  • assisting with special projects as required
  • providing support to the other accountants in the group.

Part or fully qualified AAT qualification or equivalent required with one to three years' related experience.
