They are a leasing broker who have been operating in the vehicle leasing and management sector for over 12 years.

This role will give the successful candidate an opportunity to work in a small professional team, reporting directly to the Finance Director to gain in-depth knowledge and insight into the finance department. The job will entail working closely with, and supporting, the finance team and you will therefore need to be highly motivated and have a commitment to study and further your knowledge and skillset.

As Accounts Assistant the main duties and responsibilities will include:

  • processing purchase invoices for payment

  • assisting with budget and forecast preparation
  • provisions for accruals and prepayments

  • Annual rent charges review and liaising with Housing Benefit departments
  • Provide monthly arrears and occupancy reports to the Senior Management team in order to enable them to reduce arrears and bad debts
  • Assisting in improvements and developments to Financial systems

Provide assistance to ensure accurate and timely preparation of statutory financial statements, payroll and tax compliance for a range of clients. You will be the point of contact for your portfolio of clients, providing telephone support and secretarial support for the practice.

Vacancy description:

To complete all administrative and other ad hoc tasks requested by the line manager, including but not limited to:

  • processing of clients' bookkeeping, including ledger inputting, bank reconciliations and processing VAT returns
  • you will be given on the job training in payroll, and will be given an understanding of company accounts, management accounting and tax returns

During your first two years you will:

  • learn how to use accounting software and systems in order to prepare financial statements for clients’ year end requirements
  • develop an understanding of financial statements and the nature of the clients’ business
  • co-ordinate with tax, payroll and audit hub to deliver client information as a whole
  • IXBRL tagging
  • manage your own client portfolio
  • self-review your own-work, ensuring minimal review points are raised by managers
  • have confident knowledge of accounting standards which you apply to a given set of year end financials
  • carry out the tax computation for simpler clients.
