AAT bookkeeping members (AATQBs)
There is much continuity for AAT bookkeeping members (AATQBs) with 75% continuing to report a salary increase this year and a broad stability in the level of bonuses and the proportion of bookkeepers receiving them. Salaries have increased by 11.5% since 2023.
This is not surprising if we look at the wider economic picture. UK wage growth peaked during the tight labour market of 2021–23 and since then we have seen momentum fading in the wider economy with wage growth slowing.
In this context, we see three quarters of AATQBs agree that completing an AAT Accounting Qualification has increased their earning potential.
Salaries
The majority of AATQBs continue to report that their salary increased over the last year, 75% in 2025 compared with 75% in 2023.

Median salary for AATQBs is £31,000 in 2025 compared to £27,800 in 2023. This is an 11.5% increase, compared with 2023.

AATQBs earn 11% more than Level 4 students who are not AATQBs. This premium is consistent with the findings of the 2023 survey.
Bonuses
Bonuses have remained stable for AATQBs with 31% receiving a bonus in the last 12 months compared to 34% in 2023.

The median bonus for AATQBs in 2025 is £1000 compared to £900 for AATQB at Level 3 and £1000 for AATQB at Level 4 in 2023.
