AAT has launched a new bursary scheme which will give financially disadvantaged people the chance to study for an AAT accounting or bookkeeping qualification without needing to pay a penny towards the costs.

The scheme, which comes as part of AAT’s 40th year, is open to any UK resident aged 16 or over who is able to demonstrate that they are in genuine financial need. Those who are eligible for the scheme are invited to apply for the bursary by visiting the AAT Bursary webpage once they have spoken to a training provider and chosen the AAT qualification that they wish to study.

Adam Williamson, Head of Professional Standards, AAT, said: “At a particularly challenging time for the UK, the AAT Bursary provides a fantastic opportunity to change the lives of individuals who need financial support. AAT qualifications are globally recognised and give thousands of people the chance to start an exciting career in finance. We believe this new scheme will add to our success stories."

Applicants should submit their entry to the Bursary by the deadline day of 10 April 2020. The process and timings of the scheme are subject to adjustments, in line with changing circumstances for AAT and the wider education/training provider world at this time.
