AAT Future Finance Online 2020

AAT is excited to announce that AAT Future Finance 2020 – a two-day learning experience for forward-thinking accountants – has relaunched as a virtual conference.

Following the decision to cancel the original event, set to take place in Birmingham on 18–19 June 2020, AAT acted swiftly to launch a redesigned event, to take place over the same days as originally planned, and with the theme of "planning for the new reality".

The conference will offer insight from some of the sector’s most influential thought leaders, giving participants the skills to sustain and succeed during and after the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, as well as the tools to navigate a changing financial landscape.

Sessions at AAT Future Finance 2020 Online will include:

  • Michael Steed, Head of Tax at BPP Professional Development, discussing tax issues arising from the Covid-19 outbreak
  • Chris Argent, CEO of Generation CFO, focusing on adopting digital finance in the new era
  • Steve Collings, Audit and Technical Partner at Leavitt Walmsley Associates, discussing the impact of Covid-19 on financial statements.

AAT CEO Mark Farrar said: “The accounting sector has already been evolving at an increasingly rapid pace due to the digital revolution. This has accelerated further given how much the UK’s workforce has needed to adapt during the Covid-19 pandemic. So staying informed, up to date and connected with the wider industry has never been more important.

“We were keen that AAT Future Finance 2020 could itself be reinvented digitally following the necessary, but disappointing, cancellation of our face-to-face event. We are thrilled that so many fantastic speakers will be taking part in the new virtual conference format, celebrating AAT’s 40th year by focusing on growth, insights and the changing role of the accountant.”

Delivering the same practical insights, big ideas and sector trend updates in a brand new digital format, AAT Future Finance 2020 Online will run as a two-day webinar between 09.25 and 17.15 on Thursday 18 and Friday 19 June.

The event is free for all AAT members, who should pre-register for the event.
