AAT partners with RQ to tackle referral management challenges in small firms
28 April 2026

RQ, the referral management platform for professional firms, has today announced a partnership with AAT, giving licensed members access to the platform at a 50% discount.
With referral work an important source of growth for smaller firms, the partnership is designed to help accountancy practices move away from spreadsheets, inbox chains and informal introductions - and instead help them take a more structured and proactive approach, enabling them to act on opportunities faster, strengthen relationships and drive more consistent business growth.
The partnership gives AAT licensed members access to software that brings greater structure, consistency and best practice to day-to-day referral management.
RQ gives firms one place to log, track and manage referrals from first introduction through to completion. It helps teams follow up faster, maintain clear records, track fees and identify which relationships generate the most work - reducing the likelihood of missed opportunities, delayed responses and incomplete records. The platform connects with core business systems, reducing duplicate admin and helping firms respond while client interest is still high. It also supports compliance by helping firms manage the risk of referrals crossing into regulated activity.
Through the AAT member benefits programme, licensed members will receive a 50% discount. The partnership is also expected to support future guidance, webinars and practical content focused on referral best practice, professional standards and reducing the risk of non-compliant activity.
Johnny Ridd, Chief Executive Officer of RQ, said, “Most firms underestimate how much value is lost through unmanaged referrals. Good opportunities arrive warm, then disappear into inboxes, are followed up too late, or are never measured properly. We built RQ to solve that problem while also helping firms create stronger records, better visibility and more consistent processes. We are delighted to partner with AAT to bring that capability to more member firms.”
Isla Billett, AAT Product Director, said, “Referrals are a vital source of growth for many of our licensed members, but often they’re managed informally, which can lead to missed opportunities and compliance risks. By partnering with RQ, we’re giving our members access to tools that help them manage referrals more effectively, strengthen client trust and build more resilient businesses.”
The partnership follows continued adoption of RQ across accounting and advice firms, alongside recent investment in integrations, workflow automation and reporting.
RQ helps firms to:
- Stop losing referral opportunities due to missed follow-up
- Track which introducers generate the most fees
- Manage referral fees and disclosures with clear records
- Reduce time spent on manual tracking and admin
- Keep all referral activity in one place
