Sarah Beale hands award to Thura Shein and Myint Myint Yee

At the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) Training Provider Awards in March 2024, the award for International Training Provider of the Year went to MAS Education: Management and Accountancy School, based in Myanmar.

Myanmar is a country going through significant difficulties in recent years, after a military coup displaced the elected government - plunging its people into economic difficulty and international isolation.

MAS’ determination to continue providing the opportunity to study our life-changing qualifications amidst extremely challenging circumstances in recent years is as commendable as it is brave.

MAS Education won the top international award for their excellent pass rates and exceptional year-on-year growth.

“Whilst we were delighted to receive a video message from MAS founder Sayar Thura Shein back in February,” explained AAT CEO Sarah Beale,it is even better that to be able to present this world-class educator with the important honour here in person.”

Beale said: "The International Training Provider of the Year award recognises MAS Education's incredible growth and continuing dedication to students. This especially impressive considering the staggering challenge they face in their region and shows the commitment and passion to provide AAT qualifications."

Beale and AAT International Development Lead Tim Dawkins have been in South-East Asia to engage with and hear from AAT's sister accountancy professional bodies, their federations, and to meet with key AAT training providers in the region.
