Now in its second year, AAT Connect has become AAT’s flagship and largest in-person member event of the year, developed by members, for members. The one-day experience brought together professionals from across the UK to explore the latest industry insights, connect with peers and celebrate achievements across the organisation’s community.

A day shaped by members

This year’s event featured a packed agenda of member-led panels, networking opportunities and interactive sessions. The event brought out the breadth of talent across AAT's membership with sessions covering everything from automation and client growth to the ethical use of AI

Delegates also had the chance to meet members of the AAT Members’ Advisory Council (MAC), learning how their feedback directly influences the organisation’s decisions and future direction. Delegates also met industry partners who showcased new solutions for modern accounting practices.

Celebrating excellence

The afternoon continued with the AAT Impact Awards, hosted by accountant turned comedian, Samantha Day.  Members celebrated those who have gone above and beyond to support their communities and the profession. From sustainability initiatives to mentoring future talent, this year’s winners reflected the diverse impact of AAT’s membership.

In her speech, Lucy Cohen, AAT President said:

“AAT Connect showcases just how much skill and experience we have across our membership and our eagerness to develop further. We’re all here because of the value of lifelong learning, whether that’s members with decades of experience or those who are newly entering the profession.  Lifelong learning keeps us resilient and ready for change.  Lucy added “My two priorities as President are simple but powerful: diversity, equity and inclusion, and support for small business”.

Commenting on the event, Sarah Beale, AAT CEO said:

“What I have learned over the last few years in my role at AAT, is that being a member of AAT is about belonging – belonging to a positive community that supports, inspires, and lifts each other up. When we come together – to share ideas, trade experiences, and help each other, amazing things happen. We not only strengthen individual careers, we inspire people to believe in themselves, we improve the profession as a whole, and together we create a network where every member has the chance to be them, to grow, thrive, and so very often to give back, and be part of something bigger.”
