Regulating Level 1 and 2 qualifications designed to lead to employment
Executive summary
AAT has no objection in principle to the proposal for an assessment strategy requirement. However, as the consultation itself recognises, this will put an additional administrative burden on awarding organisations (AOs) and require a reasonable lead-in time to implement.
We would welcome further guidance from Ofqual to establish a clear implementation timeframe for when the AOs should have their assessment strategies in place. This timeframe should be decided on in consultation with AOs to ensure there is adequate time to prepare as well as take into account the other administrative requirements that AOs are facing with the broader reform to post-16 qualifications.
