Assessment grading, results waiting times and fees

All AAT assessments are computer based assessments (CBAs). They're administered by training providers or assessment venues and run on a PC or laptop.

All assessments are available to be scheduled on demand throughout the year. Should this change, AAT will communicate it in advance.

Results and grading

Each assessment makes up a percentage of the overall qualification grade, as indicated in the tables below.

For unit assessments you're awarded a result of "achieved" or not "not yet achieved".

For End Point Assessment (EPA) components, you're awarded "competent" or "not yet competent".

You'll also receive a percentage score (where on a graded qualification), your individual task scores, and performance descriptor per task.

Some EPA components are also graded at "Pass" (70%–89%) or "Distinction" (90%–100%).

Result release dates

The tables below show the duration between sitting each assessment and receiving your results.

Remotely invigilated assessment results are released within the timeframe shown unless there are any submission, recording or significant invigilation issues that require further investigation. If so we'll contact you directly.

If you already know roughly in which week or month you want to sit the assessment, you can see the exact date on which you'd get your results on the Assessment results release dates page.
