There is currently a high demand for tutors so it is a good time to move roles. There are also many opportunities to increase the hours that you work. Many training providers rely on a mix of part and full-time staff to teach and administer the AAT qualification, and some tutors work part-time at two or more centres as this meets their needs.

As Course Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the success of our students through:

  • Preparation, delivery and assessment on a range of teaching programmes in line with College policies and procedure as directed by the Head of Department.
  • Course design, organisation and assessment
  • Planning and management of student progress
  • Course promotion and student recruitment
  • Effective liaison and influence of teachers and direct reports

Our ideal candidates will have current experience of teaching, assessing or tutoring, demonstrating a high-quality learning experience and outcomes for students, alongside the following qualifications:

  • Relevant degree or professional qualification in Accounting
  • AAT qualification
  • English and Maths at GCSE grade A – C or equivalent
  • PGCE/CertEd or equivalent

37 hours / 52 weeks per year

The Apprentice Academy (www.theapprenticeacademy.co.uk) delivers Apprenticeship programmes to organisations throughout the North West of England.

Due to expansion we are looking for an experienced accountancy professional to join our team as an Accountancy apprenticeship coach/trainer.

The apprenticeship programmes are delivered at levels 3 & 4 and have been developed by employers and approved by the government. The new apprenticeship standards are proving very popular and include the delivery of the AAT level 3 and 4 Diplomas. 

As part of the role you will work with a cohort of up to 40 learners on a one to one basis from different organisations, helping them to develop their accountancy knowledge and skills. You will coach/mentor them to demonstrate competence against the required knowledge, skills and behaviours of the standard before preparing them for their end-point assessment. 

Travel to the employer sites will be required as well as home working. Our head office is based in central Manchester. The learners will be based within one-hour travel of Manchester. 

Essential Role Criteria:

  • Minimum of 4 years in an accountancy role
  • Qualified to a minimum of AAT Level 4
  • Excellent time management skills
  • The ability to communicate and relate to people at all levels
  • A methodical and organised approach to work
  • IT literate 
  • Accurate report writing and record keeping skills
  • Driving license and access to a car 

Desirable Role Criteria:

  • Assessors Award or equivalent
  • PGCE or an equivalent teaching or training qualification
  • Experience of teaching or training people and achieving excellent outcomes
