English language-only qualification offer: policy statement
8 December 2025
AAT is committed to diversity and cultural inclusion for students who take our qualifications.
When developing qualifications, we engage with a range of stakeholders, including employers, to ensure that our qualifications deliver a workforce that is real world ready. Where there is evidence of sufficient market demand, AAT will explore the feasibility of developing qualifications in a different language and any constraints around the resources that would be required to support these qualifications.
Our qualifications are delivered through computer-based assessments that are available on demand throughout the year to AAT students and centres throughout the world. These assessments are drawn from dynamic item banks. As such, AAT assessments are available in English only.
The decision to offer assessments only in English is based on market demand and availability of resources, which includes the availability of qualified subject matter experts to develop the assessment materials in other languages. Although our assessments are available only in English, our Guidance on the application of reasonable adjustments and special consideration in AAT assessments (PDF) does allow for the use of bilingual dictionaries under relevant conditions.
We are committed to continuous improvement and welcome your feedback on our assessment and qualifications.
