Enquiries guide

There are two stages to AAT’s enquiries and appeals procedure: Stage 1 (review) and Stage 2 (appeal). A Stage 1 review must be completed before a Stage 2 appeal can be requested, except in the case of an appeal against an MRP decision.

Stage 1: review

Request a review if you're unhappy with your assessment result.

AAT will conduct a detailed review of your assessment and provide feedback on your performance in each task. Human-marked tasks taken as part of a computer based assessment will be reviewed by someone who was not involved in the original marking.

If you'd like to proceed with a review, please complete Form EA1A. The fee for this service is £38.

You may request a review of one or more results within the timescale. Training providers and employers may request a review for a group of two or more students. If so, please complete Form EA1B. The fee for this service is £38 per student, per assessment.

Timeline

  • Students, training providers or employees are required to submit an EA1A or EA1B form within ten business days from the date a result is released.
  • The Assessment Operations team will confirm receipt of the form and if payment was not included, an invoice will be placed on the appropriate account and a member of AAT will send an email instructing payment to be made within ten business days.
  • If either the form or payment is not received within this timeframe, the review request may not be accepted.
  • The outcome of a review will be communicated via email back to the requester within 20 business days from the date full payment is received.
  • If the outcome of the review is found in favour of the requester, this will be corrected, and a full refund of all fees paid as part of the enquiries process will be issued.
