Misconduct

  1. He submitted, or caused to be submitted, multiple VAT returns to HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) on behalf of SecureServe Maintenance Limited that were materially inaccurate and unsupported by a genuine underlying business.
  2. He provided, or caused to be provided, information and documents to HMRC in support of the VAT returns referred to in Allegation 1, which he later admitted were false or fabricated.
  3. His conduct, as set out in Allegations 1 to 2 above, was incompatible with the professional and ethical standards expected of an AAT licensed member.

Finding

By reason of the conduct set out in the Allegations above, Adal Shawn is guilty of misconduct pursuant to Article 21 of AAT’s Articles of Association

Order

  1. Expelled from AAT for a period of five years 
  2. Fined £5,000
  3. Warned about his future conduct.

Consent

The decision of the Investigations Team shall stand as an Order of the Association pursuant to Regulations 5.2 and 5.3 of the Disciplinary Regulations.
