Misconduct

Kevin Whitehouse’s conduct was found to be in breach of the Code of Professional Ethics and to have posed a risk to the public and/or undermine public confidence in the Association and its members as follows:
1.Between on or around Jan 2020 until on or around March 2023, you provided self-employed accountancy or related services to the public whilst not registered or licensed to provide such services or approved as exempt from holding a licence to provide such services.
2.Between on or around Jan 2020 until on or around March 2023, you provided self-employed accountancy or related services to the public without being registered with a supervisory authority for the purposes of Anti Money Laundering.
3.Between on or around 25 July 2022 and on or around 26 July 2023, to a former client’s detriment, you failed to adequately respond to, or fulfil, one or more requests in respect of:
(i)their overdue VAT returns for the accounting period March to May 2022; and/or
(ii)releasing information and documents in your possession relating to their tax matters to assist the change in professional appointment.

 

Finding

Grounds for disciplinary action existed and the matter was suitable for exercise of the Investigations Team's powers under the Disciplinary Regulations.

Order

Kevin Whitehouse is hereby:
1. Expelled from AAT until for a period of three years

Consent

Kevin Whitehouse actively consented to the decision of the Investigations Team in accordance with Regulation 6 of the Disciplinary Regulations.
