Help and support: answers for members

AAT membership options

AAT professional membership helps your employment prospects and earning potential. You can even start your own practice. It's available once you've completed your AAT studies, or to some who've studied elsewhere.

Find out more about the benefits of AAT membership.

Take a look at the current membership fees to understand the annual cost.

If you’re an AATQB member who is looking to progress onto the AAT Level 4 Diploma in Professional Accounting (Qualifications 2022), you will still need to keep up with your annual AATQB membership fees and membership renewal.

To discuss membership options and requirements, speak to our Customer Support team on 44 (0)20 3735 2468 or email us. Please use the email address for your MyAAT login and we won't need to confirm your identity.

Check the progress of your professional member application

If you've made an application to become a professional member or provided follow-up information, please allow up to ten working days for it to be processed.  We will contact you if we have any queries regarding your application.

If you need to speak to someone, please call Customer Support on +44 (0)20 3735 2468 or email us. Please use the email address for your MyAAT login and we won't need to confirm your identity.

Invoices and receipts

You can get replacement receipts for any payments you've made in the last five years from your payment history.

If you need a replacement invoice or renewal notification you can get one from the Pay outstanding fees page for any payments currently requested from you.

Invoicing your employer

The only time we can change the invoice details from your own to your employer's is if your employer is listed as an AAT Employer Scheme member, and if they have their own account with us in which to pay renewals.

VAT

As a registered charity all our membership and assessment fees are VAT exempt. Therefore, VAT is not charged on any of our fees.

Applying for reduced fees

If you’re an AAT full member (MAAT), fellow member (FMAAT) or AAT Licensed Accountant, you may be eligible for a reduced membership or licence fee.

You can apply using the reduced fee application form, which will confirm whether you're eligible, or you can find the eligibility criteria on the reduced membership and licence fees page.

Completing your licence renewal

You can complete your licence renewal through your MyAAT account. This will become available to complete one month before your renewal is due and will appear as a banner at the top of your MyAAT dashboard.

We carry out CPD monitoring. Members are selected at random on a monthly basis to ensure they're undertaking CPD.

Make sure you’re familiar with our CPD policy and you're keeping your CPD records up to date, so that if you're selected for CPD monitoring, you've got everything ready to submit to us.
