Shaping the evolution of AAT qualifications: have your say on our suite

Help us shape the future

Help us shape the future

In today's rapidly evolving accounting industry, staying ahead requires continuous innovation. At AAT we need to evolve our qualification suite to ensure we continue to meet the needs of modern employers and students, equipping our accounting technicians of the future with real-world-ready skills.

But we don’t want to do this alone: we want to work with and involve our partners. So we're sharing with you our drafted unit content and sample assessments and mark schemes, and inviting your feedback.

We want to consult with as many partners as possible, and we're actively seeking employers to validate our approach as robust and fit for the future, so if you're a training provider working with employers, please share this with them and ask them to get involved!

Practice assessment and mark scheme drafts

The evolution of our qualifications has very much begun. We've built on our Qualifications 2022 suite by analysing the current trends in the accountancy sector and holding discussions with employers to identify how the accounting technician role is evolving: through digital innovation, green skills and those vital professional power skills.

We've set ourselves a number of design principles for this new suite, which include considerations for progression routes outside of AAT, and the changing landscape of education to ensure the accessibility of our qualifications.

Training providers: share your feedback

You can speak to us at one of the many in-person or online events we're holding, or email us. If you'd like to arrange a meeting, contact Clare Dye, Product Manager (Qualifications).

Employers: share your feedback

If you're an employer of AAT students or professional members, and not a training provider, please use these survey links to tell us what you think.

My love for AAT started early in my journey and only kept growing once I became a professional member working in finance. Now as an AAT tutor, I want to help inspire the next generation of AAT students the same way I was inspired.
