We’re passionate about lifelong learning and development and are here to help you achieve your goals beyond your studies. A key way we do that is through AAT professional membership.
AAT professional membership gives you professional recognition and the opportunity to use designatory letters after your name. It demonstrates your skills, experience and knowledge, and could increase your earning potential. There are different options available, so you can apply for the one that matches your qualification and experience.
AAT bookkeeping member (AATQB)
An AAT bookkeeping member is a qualified bookkeeper who has been approved for AAT bookkeeping membership. They can use the designatory letters AATQB after their name. AAT bookkeeping members can apply to run their own practice as an AAT Licensed Bookkeeper.
AAT full member (MAAT)
An AAT full member is a qualified accountant who has demonstrated the skills and experience required to be approved for AAT full membership. They can use the designatory letters MAAT after their name.
AAT full members can also apply for a licence to run their own practice as an AAT Licensed Accountant or Bookkeeper. After five years, you can progress to become an AAT fellow member, where you’ll enjoy even great benefits and earning potential.
AAT full membership (MAAT) is a fast-track route to chartered status with any of the UK's chartered accountancy bodies.
