Apply to become an AAT training provider

Application and approval process

To become an AAT Approved training provider and offer AAT Qualifications you need to complete the following steps:

Step 1 - Provide initial information

You first need to email trainingproviders@aat.org.uk and provide us with the following information:

  1. Full name of your organisation

  2. Full postal address including postcode

  3. Landline telephone number

  4. Website address - this must be a live, fully functioning website

  5. Other awarding bodies your organisation is accredited with

Step 2 - Speak to an AAT account manager

When we have received the above information, you will be contacted by an AAT account manager.

  • If you are based in the UK, one of the AAT regional account managers will contact you to set up a meeting.

  • If you are based outside the UK, you will be contacted by an International account manager. If you have any queries you can contact the team at aatglobal@aat.org.uk

The account manager will fully explain the criteria needed to be an approved AAT training provider:

Your organisation must have an equal opportunities policy in place.

Step 3 - Expression of interest form

Once you have been in contact with your UK regional account manager or the International team, if you meet the criteria you will be sent the expression of interest form.

Please complete the expression of interest form and return to trainingproviders@aat.org.uk

What happens next?

  1. AAT will review your expression of interest form and a credit check will be carried out on your organisation.

  2. If you meet all of the criteria you will be progressed to the next stage of the process and a supplementary application pack will be sent to you.

  3. The fee for reviewing your application is listed under Training provider fees 2016/17 on the second page under Application fees.

  4. Depending on your credit check a deposit may also be required prior to approval. Only applications that meet AAT’s high standards will be approved.

  5. Once your application has been reviewed by the Awarding Organisation Compliance Team you will be contacted either to be progressed to an External Verifiers approval visit, or to be advised you are not yet ready to move to the full approval stage.
